Margie Maak
Margie is a NJ native bartender that’s been working in the industry for almost two decades, but she’s been known to lose track of time and we honestly don't know how old she really is. She’s tended every kind of bar all over NJ, from the sports bar, the ghetto dive bar, the music venue, the cocktail bar, industry bar, fine dining and the college spot. She’s certainly shaken it all over town.
Up until a few years ago she was juggling a full time corporate IT career while bartending, and everything changed when Margie met N. Bryan Mack at Verve. The craft bar community floodgates were opened and she could not turn back. It soon dawned on her that she needed to leave the corporate life to fully immerse into the industry she was most passionate about. With Mack’s guidance she was accepted into Cocktails in the Country run by the legendary Gaz Regan. Something Gaz used to stay resonated with her: "bartenders change the world one smile at a time."
Margie was hooked and determined to learn everything she could. She has participated in events like Bar Methods, Behind the Barrel, Camp Runamok, Tiki by the Sea, visiting the Patron Hacienda, and more!
She loves to cook, bake and most of all, entertain in her home stocked full of vintage glassware. Her obsession for local live music probably comes from Maxfield’s on Main, where she built an exciting and lively cocktail scene.
